Caitlin Capone, M.S., M.A.
Caitlin has over 15 years of experience as an educator of English as a Second Language (ESL) and French at Virginia Tech. She began her educational career while providing 1:1 literacy instruction to students with learning differences while teaching both children and adult learners in Miami, FL. She holds a BA in French Language & Literature from Virginia Tech, an MS in Education: Curriculum & Instruction of Modern Languages & TESOL from Florida International University, and a MA in Modern & Classical Languages, Cultures & Literatures/French from Virginia Tech. She is trained in intervention methods that focus on the sensory-cognitive processes of reading. She is passionate about instilling a love of reading in her students by teaching them explicit skills that enhance their capacity for learning and development in all subject areas.
JC Freed, M.A.
JC is an Early Childhood educator who has 14 years of experience and is passionate about teaching reading utilizing direct and explicit instruction. She has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in the Art of Teaching from James Madison University. She currently holds a Virginia Teaching License for grades PreK-3rd as well as a certification in Educational Technology. JC is trained in multisensory structured language interventions that are rooted in Orton-Gillingham and has experience working 1:1 with students who have learning differences and has also worked in K - 3 classrooms teaching all subject areas. Her passion for teaching reading to students with learning differences is personal as her oldest child has Dyslexia. She has a firsthand understanding of how difficult it is to watch your child struggle. She wants to help children and their families by providing support with reading to encourage every child to reach their full potential.
